Greatest Musical Achievement
Winnig the Scottish championships in the classical music section for my age group, (under 12’s) in Perth. I was playing a piece called Romance and Rondo by Graham Romani. It turned out that Graham Romani was one of the three adjudicators. Gave me 99/100. Have never played that well again.
Short Biography:
I was brought up in a little mining village in Lanarkshire. Moved to Edinburgh at 17 – loved it !! still miss the place ! Played the accordion for as long as I can remember. I went to the Jean Brown accordion school in Wishaw – its still on the go I believe ! Entered a lot of competitions as a kid and did okay – won the Scottish twice and the entertainment section in the British once. Prefer the folk style to the ceilidh style of playing and still enjoy going back to the roots with some classical numbers now and again. Now living in the countryside of Buchan with wife Lindsay and 1 year old Callum (oh !! and his big bro Christopher (mini me !) now and again)
